I'm guessing that I wasn't the only one surprised when, come the end of the series (volume three), Smith had not only tied up all of his story threads and character relationships, but also managed to write a convincing, engaging and impassioned plea for following one's creative impulses.<br />Who'd have guessed that a book with that much gratuitous...well, EVERYTHING could also act as a sort of big boobed, blood-soaked life coach? Not me.
