During Johan and Tenma's final confrontation, it was the first time I've ever started yelling at a comic, and telling Tenma to just bloody shoot Johan anyway (although of course I didn't really want him to, because I wanted him to remain awesome and good). Such an amazing series. I'm so thrilled I've had the chance to discover a storytelling master like Urasawa. Really enjoying Pluto and 20th Century Boys, but I think Monster will always be my number one love.Faithhttp://www.faitherinhicks.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882610517765002247.post-75203245515032899902009-03-31T23:15:00.000-05:002009-03-31T23:15:00.000-05:00Man, I knew there was no way you could stop going ...Man, I knew there was no way you could stop going once you tasted this conclusion!

I loved, loved, loved this last volume. I would have been fine with it if it had just been the Inspector Lunge stuff, but for Grimmer to get that end he got--including that note-perfect epilogue with the guys showing up at his grave--as well as that page where Tenma "saw" the apocalypse that Roberto was so obsessed with...god, there was just nothing I had a complaint with in this chapter. That fight between Roberto and Lunge was brilliant, it's hard to believe that it was words/images on page.

Thank you for doing this series of posts, thanks for introducing me, as a reader, to the Monster series itself. Looking forward to more Brady, but for now I'm going to go back and start at 1.Tucker Stonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10793079084633425826noreply@blogger.com
