Maybe Northlanders? House of Mystery wasn't bad, but that one was a bit different, with characters from other Vertigo series commenting on the new book. I credit Matthew Sturges with that bit of (mild) cleverness. Did Army@Love have a preview? Am I just retroactively remembering previews more positively when they were for series that I liked? I can't remember ever seeing one that succeeded in peaking my interest in the comic--Air, Un-Men, Madame Xanuda, the Afghanisthan Sandman, Vinyl underground--they've all gotten that six/eight page treatment, and they always seem to be the same vague this-is-not-what-you-think-it-is tone with inoffensively bland art.
