Save the Wholphins!

This might be common knowledge by now, but I figure it's worth posting to get the word out. Apparently, McSweeney's, the independent publishing house run by Dave Eggers, is having financial difficulties, so they're doing what Fantagraphics and Top Shelf did in similar situations and are having a big sale to raise the money to stay in business. I'm a big fan of Eggers' writing, so I'll try to pick up a few items. If you're interested, I would suggest McSweeney's #13, the comics issue edited by Chris Ware with some really good stuff, including a cool fold-out dust jacket by Ware. Or maybe the Haggis-on-Whey bundle of hilarious "science" books: Giraffes? Giraffes!; Your Disgusting Head; and Animals of the Ocean, in Particular the Giant Squid. There's this cool poster of faces drawn by Charles Burns for the covers of the Believer magazine. And if you want to spend larger amounts of money, there are also some Ebay auctions of stuff like Chris Ware's original proofs of McSweeney's #13 or original art by Tony Millionaire. There's lots of good stuff, so I encourage you to check it out, especially if you like McSweeney's and don't want to see them go out of business.
